This is a part of lyrics of popular children's song in Korea, 'Pretty Baby Bear'

The lyrics tells you how much dolls could mean to people when they were young.

when we feel so
blue,
tired,
happy
or upset,
we need somebody to talk to
or who can comfort and listen but not to talk behind and look down on us.

As people are getting older,
As people are getting familiar with each other,
Dolls and People become real friends.

True friends
who can read your mind,
who can rely on you sometimes.

If you are hoping to meet somebody like your little friend,
If you want to introduce your little friend to your sons and daughters or friends,
Go for a travel to the precious memories,
to the moment your little friend soothed you quietly.

I am pretty sure you know that how much the
metasequia lane means to Nami Island.
It is the symbol of Nami Island.^_^

[Location]

Nami Island was main filming location for the Korean
soap-opera 'Winter Sonata' that became internationally famous.
Many people say one of the best scene was taken at Metasequia lane
They love Metasequia's exotic and magnificent look

Metasequoia (Dawn Redwood) is a fast-growing, deciduous tree, and the sole living species, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, is one of three species of conifers known as redwoods. It is native to the Sichuan-Hubei region of China. Although shortest of the redwoods, it grows to at least 200 feet (60 meters) in height. Local villagers refer to the original tree from which most others derive as Shui-sa, or "water fir," which is part of a local shrine. Since that tree's rediscovery in 1944, the Dawn Redwood has become a popular ornamental.

Metasequia tree originally come from China. It needs a special protection for preserving its species.
In korea, Naminara Republic and Damyang are well known for Metasequia lanes.

Metasequia lane in Naminara was planted since 1965 by Minn Byong-do, the founder of Nami Island. His great love and dedication turned a desolate piece of land into the beautifully cultivated Nami Island we see today.

"Also known as living fossils, metasequoia trees were transplanted on Nami Island from the College of Agriculture, Seoul National University, in 1977. By growing tall very fast, these trees made a luxuriant path to walk through and became very popular after being filmed in the famous TV Drama, ‘Winter Sonata.’ With its elegant, exotic, and magnificent appearance, Metasequoia Lane has turned out to be the most popular, and also the symbolic site on Nami Island."
